Eh? I thought it was liscenced by VIZ a while ago... Isn't that why MangaCity dropped it?
In my area, there are atleast volumes 1-8 already out on the shelf in the book stores. They've been there for a little less than a year or so. ~______~;;

Well, I really dunno what to say about Viz. =/ I think they're appropriate for the anime series though, since it's super long. >.> Viz would probably be one of the few licensors that are willing to continue it for...well...as long as possible. I haven't seen any of the other companies go for super long series like Viz does. At least Viz upped their standard a while back. :3 I'm not too worried for the future of PoT Anime.

That was my biggest fear when I started reading Naruto back in 2004... I was afraid that it would be crappily dubbed, AND IT IS. WHY, GOD, WHY DOES NARUTO SOUND LIKE A GRANDMA?!?!
They should seriously have English voice actors watch the series beforehand with THE ORIGINAL voices... but maybe then they'd try too hard to copy it...? I don't know.

4KIDS actually isn't as bad as viz... someone told me that at panel, 4KIDs talked about their dubbing and stuff, and it's actualy VIZ that insists on name changes and dub-only stuff. VIZ has a really crappy history, like they used to charge $18 for manga, it was only because TokyoPop came out with $10 manga that the prices got lowered.

i'm not an anti-VIZ person. =P i get Death Note and Shounen Jump from them. haha. but most of the people that do like PoT read the manga and aren't entitled to watch the anime. =/ Since VIZ lisenced it, i think it's a good thing.

Oh, but I will admit, because of Tokyopop, Viz's attitude towards manga changed, and Shounen Jump was awesome until they skipped all those volumes of Yu-Gi-Oh ='(
