A/N: Because Yukimura reminded me very much of Saint Seiya's Shaka during his match with Ryoma. So I decided there had to be a reason Yukimura knew the Ten Bu Ho Rin. XD This was my first time writing for Prince of Tennis...
Daddy!
The Nationals ended with defeat for Rikkai, something that ever member of the team took personally. Yukimura had been silent since his defeat at Echizen’s hands. Even through their own numb disbelief in the fact that their Captain had actually lost, the other members of the team were all concerned for him. None of them cared to approach though, because none of them, not even Yanagi and Sanada knew what to say to him. They were walking out of the stadium, all of them throwing the occasional concerned glance at their captain, when Yukimura apparently stopped.
“Buchou…?” Jackal said in concern. The Rikkai Captain was frozen, staring toward the left. He abruptly dropped his tennis bag and took off running. Before any of his teammates had realized what was going on, their captain had run up to a tall blonde figure and hugged him tightly.
“DADDY!” Yukimura exclaimed joyfully. The entire Rikkai tennis club stared in disbelief.
Meanwhile Shaka sighed. “Hello Seiichi.” Mu chuckled as he watched the Virgo Saint squirm uncomfortably. “Could you please let go of me?”
“Sorry,” Seiichi let go and took a step back. “I didn’t know you were going to come today!”
“Even I didn’t know I was going to come today,” the Virgo Saint grumbled. Someone had noticed that there were a lot of boys in the junior high tennis circuit displaying unusual levels of cosmo for normal people. Athena had ordered him and Mu to check it out.
“I wouldn’t have worried if it had just been your son’s team, but it’s all the national level teams. That has me curious. Since having Seiichi there will give you a reason to be at the nationals, I want you to go see if you can figure if something strange is going on.” Was what she had said.
Needless to say that Shaka was now very tired to tennis and everything to do with it. “Seiichi about your match…” The boy perked up. “I was disappointed in you.” The Rikkai Captain looked down. He knew that Shaka didn’t care about tennis but a loss was still a loss, not matter what arena it was in. “If you’re going to use that technique, at least finish it. You only removed three of you opponents senses.” The Virgo Saint continued.
“I haven’t figured out how to make the two vanish,” Seiichi admitted. “besides smell and taste don’t really help you in a tennis match.”
“You should still train more,” Shaka said sternly “if you feel you must corrupt my training and techniques to adapt them to this game of yours, at least you can do it properly.”
“Yes Daddy.” Seiichi sighed.
“That was a good match though.” Mu cut in.
“Thank you Mu-san.” Seiichi said politely.
“Seiichi, have you noticed anyone other tennis players with Cosmo?” Shaka asked. Yukimura thought about this for a moment.
“Echizen Ryoma and Tezuka Kunimitsu from Seigaku defiantly. My vice-captain Sanada , which is one of the reasons I choose him, and Atobe from Hyotei might be worth looking at too.. There are also several people from….” Yukimura continued to list names as the two Saints nodded and made notes of who might be worth talking to.
Meanwhile the Rikkai team were all straining o catch the conversation, while not moving from where they were standing. They all wanted to know what was going on, but they didn’t dare try to ease drop and risk their captains wrath. The regular all had different reactions to the curve ball Yukimura had thrown at them. Niou was snickering, Yagyuu was blinking rapidly, Yanagi was scribbling rapidly in a notebook muttering something about data, Sanada was looking as if something had hit him over the head, and Murai was bugging Jackal.
“Buchou said ‘Daddy’ so, it’s a guy.” Jackal was saying patiently.
“But look how long he wears his hair. Even that one guy from Rokkaku doesn’t wear his hair that long…”
“You shouldn’t judge people by their hair!”
Kirihara was being unusually quiet as he stared at his Captain and the men he was talking.
“You know…” he said after a minuet or so, “I think Buchou’s Dad is prettier than he is!”
