So it all started last Tuesday or Wednesday night when I could feel the beginnings of a cold, but decided to go jogging anyway. I kept warm, and had a nice hot bath afterwards. All was good.
By Thursday I had a slighty sore throat and the barest touch of a cough. But no way in hell was such a measley annoyance going to stop me from seeing Heidi - especially with the awesome ticket I had. And they were awesome.
Unfortunately, the walk home from the station was freezing cold, and I think that's where the problem really started. By Friday I had a real cough and my throat was indeed sore.
But Saturday was Heidi's mini live at Tower Records and I wasn't missing that for the world! I bought some medicine on the way out, and I felt miraculously fine the whole time Heidi were on stage. I coughed a little during the encore calls, but once they came out again, I felt fine. XD So I jumped and headbanged and enjoyed the hell out of myself (although I didn't scream even once - which I was very proud of.)
That night was the first of many sleepless night during with the agony of swallowing kept me awake.
I set out on a quest for painkillers - and came make with painkillers/throat medicine that were completely useless.
My misery of coughing and sore throats got worse on Sunday, but I ad to appear on this quiz show my class was making so I went and did my best despite my ridiculous lack of a voice. And felt miserable by the time I got back because the cold air got into my lungs during the walk. >.<
Just when I thought I was improving a bit, I woke up on Tuesday morning feeling like I was caught in a plane with terrible cabin pressure and my ears were popping. So I went to the hospital (read, I went ot the doctors) The throat doctor said I had a common cold and just needed normal medicine... The ear doctor recoiled and horror, exclaimed how painful ti must be, and prescibed me a course of anti-biotics, de-congestants, strong ass pain killers, and a drip for my ear. You see, apparently snot dripped from my nasal cavity into my ear and thus caused an infection. @_@
So I've been taking my medicine and spending my days and nights watching Sailor Moon Sailor Stars (finally, after having it on my HD since 2005). I think the cold is finally subsiding somewhat although nights and mornings are still pretty bad. My voice is coming back a bit, but I'm a little worried about that since my throat doesn't seem to be healing much at all. As for my ear, no real change yet. The pain killers stop it from hurting, but I feel like I have an earplug stuck in there permanently. It's annoying.
Meanwhile, I'm supposed to shake hands with Heidi on Saturday. (Oh, and I feel really guilty for skipping class on Wednesday and Thursday this week since I can't go now) and I haven't been to work at all this week. >.< And Sunday is this huge concert I've been looking forward to for ages!!! I wanna be able to hear it properly!!!!!!
Aaaaaand that about brings us up to date.
