I went to my first convention today! :DD London MCM Expo! There was Klingons! They were funny... And Naruto's US voice actor liked the cosplay vomiting and told the Yuna (Final Fantasy, right?) cosplayer it would be great if she could vomit too.

I met a friend from a Pokemon Oekaki I've been a member of for four years or something. That was 'whoa scary' cos she was even shyer than me somehow.

I bought the last copy of the last volume of Fake they had. It had naughty scenes... Teehee... And there was money off and I got a giant Tokyopop bag to cart around.

I gots a Seigaku bag and found this really cute plushie of Momo in a Sailor Suit, but it was so dumb looking I was like 'WTFNOXDD'. They didn't have any of Kumagoro left... ;0;

My friend ate all the Pocky. And a hotdog. And some crisps. And a chocolate bar. And a packet of M&Ms. (that was just her lunch)
We made our first ever attempt at cosplaying. She took care of the wigs, and that was a mistake. They were awful. She had a tinsle wig and mine was just... >.>;; And I will destroy that photo before my dad can email it around... Somehow...
But other than that, it was ok. For a half-arsed first attempt, I did pretty well. :3 We were Mello and Near from Death Note, only I missed out on a gun, ate my only other prop, and missed out on buying a Death Note at one of the stands. D:

The moment we got off the bus there was the cutest chubby female Eiji cosplayer I'd ever seen just STANDING THERE and I was like 'OMGOMGOMGOGMGOGMGOGMOGDFMG0SDAFGHAFHGSL'. And that was it. And I didn't tackle them to the floor or even approach them. We just followed the Akatsuki guys past the metal detector thingies and queued up behind some catgirls.


Fuji stalked me. No, srly. In the queue, and I was telling my friend about the promise and there was Fuji. Walking past. Perfect hair, costume, height, and gender even. A guy. And a master of squinting from the looks of it (he actually wandered about looking like his eyes were closed at one point, and it was really freaky. You could tell he was squinting though cos an eyelid twitched a bit and he still blinked XD).
Anyway, every now and then when I looked for my friend from the Oekaki (we lost sight of her after watching her pass us in the queue once) or to see if there were more TeniPuri cosplayers, THERE WAS FUJI. D: Every single time. Like 'whoa!' Magic. Creepy magic.
Then when I finally got to look at plushies and purses and stuff... The only TeniPuri wallets, pins and necklaces they had left were all FUJI. And it was just creepy. Fuji's creepy.
Then when I was explaining my promise to my Oekaki friend (I was searching for Legal Drug Manga and turned around and WHOAWTF she was just STANDING THERE right in front of me, and she tagged along with us and watched the masquerade together later on) just before the masquerade started this Tezuka cosplayer appeared out of nowhere clinging to the Fuji cosplayer, pushed his glasses up his nose and gave me a death glare, then wandered off. I didn't say anything cos I was so freaked out at the time. o.o

I don't think fangirls go down well in London conventions... >.>;;

I think I saw one at the Sakura Con in March right when I arrived, but he vanished later on. It's difficult to find male Tenipuri cosplayers...

D: Everytime I spotted him, my mum had wandered off to take photos of other people she couldn't name. I'm sure there'll be some photos of him somewhere...
The only proper photos she took of cosplayers were of this Atashi cosplayer and her friend (I forget who she was, but I think it was from a game of some sort), one of a really good Vash cosplayer (who was like, 7 foot tall or something o-o;; ... or at least seemed it), and we chased these Death Note cosplayers we kept seeing when they were trying to go outside! XD Their Mello pwned mine, though he was a bit too tall I think. They posed. Which was cool. I giggled and dfoagjflkgjdlgh'd and looked the other way.

Edit: No, no Kaidoh. Just Tezuka, Fuji and Eiji. There was a group of like, eight Warcraft cosplayers in full plastic body armour... At least 50 Naruto cosplayers there for the UK premiere of the first episode. Some guy in a Playboy bunny outfit who looked both embarassed and cold. The Star Trek cosplay was amazingly accurate, even in their props. The people in charge of weapon approval were all Hellsing cosplayers... o-0
And at the entrance was some guy, not cosplaying, who had magically managed to stand on top of one of those, uhh... Metal cylinders to stop cars going through? I asked my friend 'htf did he get up there?', she said he did a magic Kenshin bunny hop.

I saw an arseload of Naruto cosplayers. Most of them were just random ninjas (ie: people wearing the headband). They did do a giant group picture and then a Temari walked up right after the pictures were taken so they were like "UGHHHHHH TEMARI!!!!"... lots of Sharingan contact lenses... I saw an uber good Kakashi. It redeemed the rest of the cosplayers.

AH I FOUND THE TEMARI!

My mum figured out why the Tezuka cosplayer glared at me! It was the Fuji cosplayer's girlfriend! XD Explains the clinging... She probably forced him into it and he didn't mind because 'hey, I look like the character', and good cosplay and stuffs. And clinging.

There were tons of good Kakashi cosplayers at the Expo. o.o But nobody had contact lenses, only a few Hyuuga cosplayers (which was weird).

I wanna go to an American con~ ;0;

Yay!~ I read your con report. Exciting. Still would have liked to go...even though it wasn't as fun as last year. I would have LOVED to see the masquerade, especially the TeniMyUSA performance...wonder what song they performed...most likely from the Hyouteimyu, ne? XD

...really, it's not in LA? thought it was, being in Anahiem and all. =/ then again i can't tell the what's a city boundary and whatnot since there isn't like...a menu bar or something to tell me my location like inside games and stuff. XD

masquerade was....boring this year. wasn't as good as 2004's, of course. ^^; 2006 masquerade, the only ones interesting or remotely eye-catching, was the kira-kira Hyoutei people, a FF7AC play (where tifa was cheating on cloud with vincent and cloud was seeing...kadaj?), and a FMA one (where Hughes burst into random song and started dancing with Mustang. in the end he molests mustang and it was pretty funny). and yeah. 3 out of 56 were remotely eye-catching. group 2 didn't show up cuz they were too busy inside the Game Room. XD

aaaaaaaaand. yeah. that was it. the opening video was pretty funny though: WE PRESENT TO YOU FANIME CON 2006 MASQUERADE! NOW 100% NARUTO FREE. Your Ads Here. xD

I've only been to the masquarade once XD eeeh but I was dissappointed. I think we were too far back and didn't get a good view.

wat do people do at conventions? do they just dress up as their favorite anime character.....and then wat do they do? i never understood the concept. i think it's pretty only if people actually do a good imitation of the character, but i've seen a few pics of some and no offense to them, but they don't look that good... but that one kakshi guy that oedipusrex posted looks pretty good i think.
