The problem with "one" is also that it also means a universal statement.

"One does not sit improperly"

Such implies you are addressing everyone rather than just referring to yourself.

Yeah, like I said I can't blame the translation for this one because the various forms of I have no english equivalent, let alone adding a suffix to it.

And most other ideas you can come up with really revolve around Atobe then talking about himself in the third person which sounds less eloquent and more uneducated.

I think they quite lost the charm with atobe when they can't translate ore-sama other than "I". almost that I think they should've left it and explained in the back what it means.. ^_^;;

or they could've translated it to "my lordness"? or not, heh..

also, i don't like that everyone uses their first names almost all the time... I mean, you kinda know them as Inui, Momoshiro and Tezuka.. not Sadaharu, Takeshi and Kunimitsu..

and speaking of bad translations.. I'm not sure you'd want to read Naruto in Swedish >_> all slang and expressions they use are translated horribly, everything sounds so .. yuk. EVEN the english translations looked very nice after that..

and back to tenipuri.. I wish I could get the japanese volumes here, but I can't order from abroad and you can't buy them in sweden *sigh*

Bad translation is bad enough. But I've notice that often its not just poor translating but also sucky editing. Like the typeset and editors leave out words and just see to miss it before it goes to print. I've see this in several manga.

Its the 10.5 volume. Its not really part of the manga. It's character bios and other random and fun stuff. but the .5 volumes aren't going to be translated and released domestically. Which is kind of a bummer.

yes........so sad......... but some tranlations aren;t that bad.......the best ones are fan translations and the names are in the right oder and stuff i think

The whole issue really revolves around who is publishing it and how quickly. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but this is what I've observed:
TokyoPop-Lots of titles, volumes spaced about 1-2 months apart, not the best translations
Viz-Many titles, volumes spaced about three-five months apart, pretty good translations
Del-Rey- Few titles compared to the other two, volumes are spaced about 4-6 months apart, really good translations

Of course, there are others but those are the three I read from most.

I was given translations for the parts of 10.5 that are on the tenipuri-dsp website ^^;; I just haven't done anything with them yet, hopefully soon. Eheheheh...

well just watch in youtube the episodes and youll be better off!

The Youtube episodes are better to see and you'll understand more of what's happening in the series than the manga. Except there's slight differences in the manga and anime. I hope it helps.
