He's only one of the greatest animation directors to come from Japan.

His movies: The Castle of Cagliostro (Lupin the III movie), Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Laputa: Castle in the Sky (one of his best, I'd rank it 2nd personally), My Neighbor Totoro (Now the symbol for Studio Ghibli, where Miyazaki created/works for, I have a stuffed one and it's so cute!), Kiki's Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke (the movie that really introduced him to English fans, even though most had seen dubbed Kiki's Delivery Service and didn't know he'd directed it), Spirited Away (my fav. of his movies and his most popular one to date; only anime movie to win an American movie award (Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2002), won several film awards all over the world), and Howl's Moving Castle (honestly, the worst of his movies. If I didn't know the real story, I'd like it. But if you've ever read the book by Diana Wynne Jones, you'll see how butchered it ended up being in the movie. It was a real disappointment.)

And when Lovux tried the search machine, Miyazaki's name wasn't in that list at all. (But now she knows a guy who she shares her birthday with AND is familiar with - Shinbo from Chobits!)
