I read the whole thread and now I feel really, really scared. Especially since the PoT dub is already released. To hear Fuji sound deeper than Tezuka is horrifying! (Nuooo!); Eiji loose his happy kid-like nya-talking voice (nuoooo!) ;_; Geeehhh~! *goes back watching her subs even though she hardly understands Chinese subs*

Today I've just watched the PoT brazilian dub! (oh, yeah, I'm brazilian)

IT WAS THE CREEPIEST AND FUNNIEST THING EVER!

They call Eiji "Eiki" and Sadaharu "Sadajyaru".

But the worst thing was Kawamura shouting "JUSTICE" instead of "burning".

Really? Where are you from? Sometimes I feel so isolated down here. All the internet is from the north hemisphere. ;_;

GOD. Atobe's voice was DEEP. LOW. He sounded like a 40-year-old pimp. In short, the same as I think Sakaki's voice should sound.

And funnily enough, Kabaji's voice was really like a young teenager's should be. Which means, not appropriate for Kabaji at all. XD

The weirdest thing ever. I wouldn't buy that even if I didn't know PoT.

(It was that episode that shows Atobe harassing Ann (=PPP) and Kamio getting his bike stolen)

By "i wouldn't buy it" I meant their voices were so horribly unlike their respective physical appearances that I wouldn't accept those voices as natural even if I hadn't seen the Japanese version. ^_^

Oh no, I think the original japanese is awesome! I love the seyuus! (Ah, Suwabe.. ♥)

But in any case. Brazilian anime fans are in general very fed up of the dubs we get here. We do have a channel that airs only anime 24/7, and this is the same channel in which PoT goes. The creepy thing is, this broadcasting station seems to have half a dozen dubbers, at most, so we get a lot of repeated voices.

Poor us. ¬¬ It's pretty much like in the US, lol.

What about Suriname? Have they aired PoT there, or something? =D

WELLLLLLLL... i have watched the dub many of times on Cartoonnetwork. it's not to bad, Fuji sorta sounds like a guy, but i think his voice actor is a girl. I have seen worse dubs: ONE PIECE!!!!!!!

I watched the dubs and I nearly died. I never knew that about that voice actors.
Well now they stopped showing the dubs on Toonami so the torture is over?

I cried when I heard the dubbed version on Toonami Jetstream. I'm so damn pissed off.

One - if you are going to dubb an anime - do some damn research on the pronunciation of the characters. This is the biggest no no they can do...Mispronouncing the names. I see red when they don't say names right or when they actually change a name.

Two - watch the japanese version and listen to the voices and try for the love of god to find a english voice that some what matches.

Three - dont redo the opening and ending music nor redo scenes through out the series.

Four - if your going to redo the anime series and sell it with the stupid english dubs then for the love of god, add the uncensored japanese tracks to the dvd and make sure to subb the shit right.

Alot of my favorite animes have been ruined because of them not doing these. I also hate watching anime in english if I first watched it in japanese.

I can not and refuse to watch Prince of Tennis in english. If I see another dubbed episode I may have to hunt these people down and go all Kaidoh or Kirihara on them.

I made the mistake in going to the toonami jetstream page a few days ago and saw about 2 minutes of an episode where Ryoma was playing his match with Akutsu. I had to turn it off because my ears were about to start bleeding.

This thread makes Lovux somewhat happy that Sweden rarely dubs anime. > Because, if a Swedish comanpy decided to dub PoT, they'd only import the English version and use that as a standard when dubbing it to Swedish... *facepalm*
