Chinese Prince of Tennis live-action drama

I was browsing around AnimeNewsNetwork when I happened to see this article:

The Nikkan Sports newspaper reports that The Prince of Tennis manga will be made into a live-action drama in China. According to an announcement made in Shanghai, shooting will start in October for a planned broadcast around June of next year in China. Since that is just before the start of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the drama's ratings is expected to get a boost. The cast has been selected by a reality television program; auditions have included audience participation via the Internet and other means. China aired the animated version of The Prince of Tennis last summer.

So, yeah. ; A Chinese live-action drama of Tenipuri. Should be interesting. >___>;

O__o Is this seriously for real? If it is, 2008 is going to be a whole lot more interesting. Can you imagine Hyoutei in Chinese!?

I'm kinda worried about it. o-o; *not a big fan of Chinese dramas* >>; More like Taiwanese.

I think I'm going back to China sometime during June or July of 2008, so I must remember to somehow watch the drama and see how it goes.

Anyway, the fact that the cast was chosen through a reality show is kinda.. um.. well, it doesn't really say much for the drama at this point. ._.;;

Hm. I'm actually a bit wary about Chinese dramas since I think they're all pretty bad. >.> The Taiwanese Meteor Garden sucked, same with Peach Girl. I couldn't stand to watch them.

Okay, so Lovux has yet to see CinePuri *fails as a TeniPuri fan* But thanks to YouTube, I know that it's epic fail, godfail and all kinds of fail. Second TeniMyu cast, brand new Hyoutei cast (I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE H-A-T-E that brat they DARED to assign as Atobe) and SUCKISH acting. There just is no light in the dark...

Don't worry, I didn't watch it either. It made me sad all over to hear what they did to Hyoutei. I mean WTF? At least use the wigs from the musicals please.

Also, the thing with the deaf girl seemed a bit much. O__o They honestly should've just left Sakuno in and made her slightly more outspoken and fans would've been happy.
