The thing that got me hooked on PoT first was Ryoma's voice actor- as a sound-oriented person I was intrigued by how voice and character fit so well together, and needed to see/listen to it more.
After that it was the humor (or crack), and the pure... fun of it.
Oh, and then there were the cute guys ;D
