So, I've definitely become quite fascinated with the 20 Facts About .... lists and decided to try my hand at writing one. So, here are 20 Facts About Kabaji Munehiro:
1. Kabaji is a quiet boy. But that does not mean he’s dumb. Quite the opposite, in fact. Kabaji is ranked 12th in his class, much higher than his year-mates Ohtori (#32) and Hiyoshi (#44). That’s not to say the two are dumb or anything. Their year has over 600 students, after all.
2. There is a reason why Kabaji is so loyal to Atobe. In his first year at Hyotei, some second years came over to him and started making fun of the boy because of his size and the fact that Kabaji had yet to speak at practice. Atobe, already captain in his second year, saw this and put an end to it. He then looked over at Kabaji and offered the boy the chance to be “Ore-sama’s most valuable companion.” Kabaji took it.
3. Sometimes, he wonders what life would have been like if he hadn’t taken Atobe’s offer. But then he shakes his head because life without Atobe seems impossible.
4. Kabaji does have a girlfriend. He is the only one among the Hyotei Regulars to have one. Her name is Takako. He often wonders what everyone’s reactions to that would be.
5. It doesn’t bother him that so many of the Regulars are gay.
6. They are his friends after all.
7. Kabaji almost went to Rikkai. He doubts he would have made the Regulars there.
8. Though he is large for his age, he really does not use it to his advantage. One time, he heard Gakuto call him a “gentle giant.” Kabaji smiled at the compliment.
9. Kabaji rarely spends time at home. Part of this is out of his loyalty to Atobe. But most of it is because he hates listening to his parents scream at each other.
10. He wishes they would just get divorced already.
11. When he was seven, Kabaji found out he was related to the Fujis. Yes, those Fujis.
12. At family gatherings, Kabaji finds ways to slip away. It’s not that he doesn’t like his family. It’s just, they are so different from him. If he could, he probably would hang out with Yuuta. However, Syuusuke is always hovering around his brother. And Syuusuke has always creeped him out.
13. Kabaji’s first kiss wasn’t with Takako. It wasn’t even with a girl. Syuusuke was Kabaji’s first kiss. He tries to forget that.
14. He was glad to be matched up against Taka-san from Seigaku during Kantou. It was rare Kabaji got to play against a person like himself.
15. A week after that match, Syuusuke took him to a sushi shop. Ever since, Kabaji has made time to go to Kawamura’s Sushi for three hours every Sunday. He and Taka-san often play video games. It’s not much, but it’s enough.
16. He has a feeling he will stop playing tennis in high school. He doesn’t know why he has this feeling, but it’s there.
17. If he could go anywhere in the world, Kabaji would choose Alaska. He likes the cold and would love to see the last real frontier on the planet.
18. He hates to swim. It’s part of the reason why he plays tennis.
19. Kabaji learned to play tennis from Yuuta. He knows all of Syuusuke’s Triple Counters. No one’s ever asked him about that though.
20. Sometimes, Kabaji watches Gakuto and wonders what it would be like to be so small and loud.
