Bad quality screencaps can confuse shades (I took a screencap of a Youtube vid to try and prove Kikumaru's eyes were 'deep blue', it took Gail a moment to go 'OHSHI-THEYARE'). By real-life terms I'd say his eyes were 'blue' - in the anime.
TeniPuri is probably one of THE most confusing series for eye colours. That's why I gave Jirou-Schlaf one brown eye and one blue. Have you ever counted the eye colours they give Momo even? :{ There's at least five and some of it can be blamed on the English language (brown eyes are usually called green, so brown eyes from the manga end up green in fanart...).
With grey or dark eyes anime are great for putting random tints to. It's like black hair, it's usually blue or green, not black.

Wow. The I havent even got the silightlest idea of my very own eye color. Still I say Killua from HunterxHunter was worse. He had blue, gray, violet, green and clack eyes though the series..It is far was than Atobe.
I dont know about Momo´s but Ryoma´s eyes go from really amberish to plain brown sometimes...it is really hard to pinpoint a particular color.

Momo still has purple, blue, brown, green, pink (yes, that one made me wtf too) and yellow. ;X That's including fanart.
In canon just brown and purple.

The way i see hazel is a very peculiar shade of brown. It's tinted green, but you wouldn't see it as green, per se. I dunno, it's hard to describe.
While we're on the topic of odd colors, there's one shot of Arai with black hair. It was really weird.

Odd colors? I remember, I think it was around episode 12 or 14 or maybe around the 30s, Fuji had Tezuka's hair color.

i dunno whether i should post it here...
but i am curious about something: at the beginning of the national championship, it was mentioned that for this tournament, all 5 matches will be played (although the match #4 and #5 may not decide the winner i.e 3-0 or 3-1 position). Thus, how come in the semifinal, there was no proper match between ryoma and kin-chan?

...Haven't seen one, but I've seen an anime guy with one gold eye and one blue eye. ...Look up Homura from Saiyuki and you'll see what I mean.
