It seems that everything shippable has already been shipped, nah? We've shipped sportboys, mechas, Pokemon, microbes and much more. Well, then how about slashing some countries?
Yes, countries. That's what Hetalia is about. Got more popular because of 4chan recently, it's a webcomic recently released in tankoubon that is soon to be adapted into an anime that tells the story of WWII, but the characters are countries themselves in gijinka forms. And that's what makes it so wonderfully WTF.
Before I continue my rambling about country love, remember that it's meant to be funny. All nations are behaving in a stereotypical and exagerrated way, but nobody is getting bashed, because it's just a parody and every country gets a fair share of shining and being made fun of, so if your country does something that makes you go '
' faced, it's not the author's attempt to bash you and your fellow countrymen. I'm saying this as someone whose homeland in Hetalia is a crossdresser who acts like he won the internet, talks like a spoiled high-school girl and keeps being a brat in front of everyone.
The official Hetalia site is here but only two chapters (+ some bonus strips) are translated by now.
