... What'as the plural form of pokémon anyway? One pokémon, two poké...mans?
Ah, anyway, here goes Lovux's list of her top-ten favourite Pokémon, starting at the ten and going down to the no. 1.
10: Nidoking
This is one hardcore dude. He is a ground/poison type pokémon, but he can learn tecniques based on water, ice, psychic, ground, fighting, fire and electric elements, to mention a few. And note that he is WEAK against the first four! If anything, he can be one of your biggest lifelines in Red/Blue/Yellow, because of his ability to learn varied types of attacks.
9: Charizard
Well, how can you not love this badass fire-sprouting dragon? If you remember the first set of Pokémon Trading Card Game, you might recall Charizard's card. 120 HP (a number he only shared with Chansey! and able to give 100 damage to the opponent; it's not strange that some of the cards were sold for ridiculously high prizes!
8: Meganium
Ahh, Meganium, my favourite grass pokémon. It looks like a cute dinosaur who decided to stick his head through a flower and wear it's petals as a collar!
7: Ampharos
This fellow served as a guiding light in the olden days, since its tail glows so strongly it can be seen miles away. How is this not awesome? To be able to help people who might be in danger to find their home again? Amphy equals adorable. Especially his pwetty stripes.
6: Steelix
A large snake made of solid steel and with the highest defence of ALL pokémon (well, excluding Shuckle that is). So badass. Love this one.
5: Ninetales
Beautiful, sleek and vengeful, this is one of my oldest favourites, as I fell for it the same moment I laid my eyes on it when I first saw it on a card.
4: Lugia
People call Lugia a bird, but I hardly see it as one. It's so much more than just that! Lugia is the LEADER of the legendary birds, a myth among myths, the guardian of the seas, JUST SO FRIGGIN' EPIC. When I see Lugia, I think of a dragon or dinosaur from the past, that now is the only one of it's extincted species and sweeps through the deepest seas in solitude... It also has the most beautiful sound of all Pokémon. It could lull me to sleep with it's soft, flute-like song.
3: Entei
Eeeentei... Where do I start? Out of all legendary pokémon up to date, he is Lovux's favourite. Not only is it powerful for real, but it has just the right outwards design to match its strength as well as all the myths and legends surrounding it. This could possibly be the most majestic, magnificent pokémon ever. You respect Entei just like you would respect a grown-up male lion.
2: Dragonite
You all know that I have a soft spot for dragons, don't you? Well, this is not an exeption. But despite the dragon-ness and physical strength and power, it's a very kind and intelligent pokémon with a big heart - it is rumoured to save and lead people who got ship-wrecked to land! And... while it doesn't looks like that, it's also extremly fast and can circle around the globe in sixteen hours! DRAGONITE, LOVUX LOVES YOUU!
And so... We've finally reached the top (or bottom? XD). Here we have THE Pokémon in Lovux's book. The one that eclipses all other pocket monsters and will just always be with her wherever she goes in the whole wide world....
1: RAICHU!!
Or as I call it, the BETTER electric mouse. Raichu >>>>>>>>> Pikachu, ANYTIME, ANYDAY, ANYWHEREexcept for in the anime. This pokémon has been my favourite ever since I bought a Pokémon card set (not the trading card game) and the first card that I saw among these 15 cards was Raichu, with zillions of flashes in the background. I fell for it imedeatly. I was lost.
First of all, Raichu is chubby, cuddly and all kinds of cute. No question about that. Yet it's such a badass pokémon! When cute-looking pokémon are engaging in battle and try to look fierce and tough, most of them end up looking ridiculous or plain, but not Raichu. There is just something special about it when it gets into a fight, ready to use the 100,000 voltage in it's body that is enought to knock out a Dragonite.
Oh, Raichu, I love you so so so so so much. You have been my most beloved pokémon for twelve years, and you will always be. We're together forever. My best friend!
RAICHU IN MY
Well then, make your own lists, minna-san. You don't have to make them as detailed as Lovux's of course. If you have trouble remembering a name or details about a certain Pokémon, go check out Bulbapedia's National Dex.
