From the same series, we have its main Les Yay pairing; Tenjou Utena (pink hair) and Himemiya Anthy (purple hair). For those of you who doubt that this couple wouldn’t be interesting just because both are girls – think twice. This is not fanservice, it’s a story about two broken souls who fall for each other for what the other
is. These two girls are right up there beside Sailor Uranus and Neptune, if you ask me.

BTW, the guys look exactly like gender bender versions of Utena and Anthy. Which most likely was intentional. It HAS to be.

Of course, Revolutionary Girl Utena is shoujo, so there’s got to be a handful of bishies as well!
But truth to be told, I don’t think they are all THAT hot, really… I mean, I can tell they were designed to be attractive, but for me, they look a bit over-the-top. That doesn’t stop them from being awesome characters though. So anyway, here are a few chosen pictures that actually are in their favor!

^ One of the VERY few pictures I have of this character. I’m not very fond of feminine/girly-looking bishies after all.
^ There he is. The Master of Seduction, Mr Alpha Casanova himself. Or simply just the most sluttish anime character ever. Believe me when I tell you that this man REALLY gets around.

Now, it’s time for
End of Utena Adolescence Apocalypse, the movie that retells the TV series. It does a REALLY good job at that, compressing all 39 episodes into two hours and making it just as memorable as the TV series, and MUCH more fucked-up. Seriously.
As you can see, the character designs have been re-done for this movie, and while they still are VERY pleasant for the eyes, I have to admit that I like the TV designs better. Simply because I think the movie designs are a tad too round in the faces and have too big eyes, compared to the pointier, more angular TV designs. Oh well, the
animation is still great.

^ … But how the hell does she manage to keep all that thick, wavy Rapunzel hair in THAT little hat?!
^ I don’t like Anthy’s design in the movie. She doesn’t look nearly as cute and docile as in the TV series, IMO.
