Aw, I feel with you.
Sometimes, it seems as though the comp judges go after how often you've appeared in certain comps rather than how well you played... at least with the (IMO) biggest German comp, "Jugend Musiziert". The winners the first time I entered (according to most of us contestants) really sucked big time, but they were pretty well-known and were students under famous professors and all that jazz. Well, you never know...
